a delicious easy and healthy fall treat.
date caramel sauce.
obviously this is a great replacement for dipping your apples into.
but it also pairs nicely in a lot of baked goods I make (which you'll see popping up here and there).
oh, special trick.
add a little smooth, runny peanut butter in there.
ok, let's hit it.
you literally just combine all the ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
it could not be easier.

16 medjool dates, pitted
1/4 C maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
3/4 C plant based milk
pinch of salt
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until super smooth.
- I love getting my dates from Costco. They are always super moist and gooey. If you can't find very soft dates, soak them in boiling water for 10 minutes and drain prior to adding them to the blender.
- As always, you can use regular vanilla instead of paste or skip it all together.
- Peanut butter is a fun add on. 1-2 tablespoons. You may need to add more milk.
- I like to start with 1/2 C milk and mix everything until smooth. I almost always add the remaining 1/4 C, but the size and softness of your dates can really play a roll in how much milk you need or don't need. Don't be afraid to add more milk if you need to. 1 tablespoon at t time.
- Will keep in a glass airtight container for 7-10 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer.
