THEE BEST CRANBERRY SAUCE
Hitting you with the last recipe before Thanksgiving.
A classic.
& super easy.
Something I never had as a part of my Thanksgiving dinner until last year! 😳
See, my Mom has never made it because it is something her and my Dad don't really enjoy.
So, I just automatically thought it wasn't for me either.
Any of you do that?
Make choices dependent upon your parents likes/dislikes.
Because I sure have in my life.
Actually, for most of my life.
I finally stopped at age 30. 😅
I vividly remember one of my mom's cousins coming to Thanksgiving one year and not even trying the cranberry sauce she brought because I automatically thought I wouldn't like it. 🤯
Wild.
Hi, I'm an enneagram two and seek my parents approval in really strange, never-ending ways.
I've realized it now and have moved the fuck on.
& enjoy my life for me and the way I was meant to live it.
& guess what. My parents still think I'm the cats meow. 💁🏼♀️
Let's get back to the real reason we are here.
CRANBERRY SAUCE

Look at her, she is so beautiful.
& it only takes 5 ingredients + water to pull it together.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Sharp knife
Cutting board
Saucepan
Potato peeler
Juicer (to juice the oranges - or just use your hands)\
FOR INGREDIENTS
Fresh cranberries
Oranges - try to buy organic as you will be using the peel in this recipe
Sugar
Salt - I like terrasoul brand
Cinnamon stick - I like simply organics

First, you will need to peel two slices of orange skin off using a potato peeler. Feel free to use more than two if you'd like. But I feel like two, combined with the orange juice is the perfect amount of orange flavor.
Next you will need to juice your oranges. I juice mine my hand, but if you have a juicer that would be excellent too. If juicing by hand, using a pummel or fork to loosen those membranes will make squeezing out all the juice much easier.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, orange juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar is just dissolved. Should take less than a minute. Add your cranberries, salt, orange peels and cinnamon stick. Bring to a rolling boil and then reduce to a low heat setting. Cook for about 10 minutes or until most of the cranberries have popped. I like to leave a few whole for texture. But feel free to simmer longer if you don't care for that.
Remove saucepan from the heat and transfer to a glass jar. Let cool for at least 30 minutes before enjoying. Will store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

NOTES
Feel free to adjust the amount of orange peel you use. If you want a prominent orange flavor, add more.
Feel free to use a juicer for your oranges or use pre-made orange juice.
Will store in airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
To me, this is plenty sweet, with a bit of tartness. If you would like, feel free to reduce the amount of sugar to 1/2 cup.
